CURRICULUM

Developmentally appropriate practices are used to meet the physical, cognitive, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of each individual child. This means that teaching methods are matched with the characteristics of preschool aged children. Active learning experiences using a variety of senses are offered during structured and child-initiated (inside/outside free play) learning activities. Growing Tree Preschool strives to provide a positive, Christ-centered, stimulating environment where your child feels secure and accepted. Development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, school readiness skills, language, and appropriate social skills are cultivated through interactions with materials, peers, and adults. Teaching includes development of Christian character, as well as Biblical teaching.

MISSION STATEMENT

Growing Tree Preschool strives to provide a positive, stimulating, Bible-based environment where each child feels safe, secure and accepted. It is our desire that each child develop a love of learning and independence while cultivating fine motor skills, gross motor skills, school readiness skills, language, and appropriate social skills. Our goal, through quality teachers, is to provide a rich, nurturing environment in which to start and/or strengthen a faith foundation and to train students to be followers of Christ and responsible citizens:  sharing, taking turns, and respecting one another and property. We aim to provide meaningful and fun developmentally appropriate experiences to meet the academic, physical, spiritual, social, and emotional needs of each individual child. Throughout our program, active learning experiences using a variety of senses are offered during structured and child-initiated play. We recognize that parents are a child’s first teacher and aim to create a strong partnership by involving parents in the daily classroom activities, field trips, special days, programs, and parent groups. We aim to support families in shaping and molding the precious lives of children. We endeavor to make Growing Tree Preschool a welcoming environment where growth opportunities abound and where God’s love is evident to the children and families we serve.
