About A Glimpse of Hope
A Glimpse of Hope is a community of people who have experienced the death of a child. The children were all different ages and we the parents are each unique and different – but drawn together by the many similar thoughts, feelings, struggles, and pain. We desire to heal and grow. We believe God also desires that for people who hurt.
During this most difficult journey parents struggle, sometimes daily, as they maneuver through life. If you have suffered such a loss and have struggled to find “normalcy” in the midst of the grief and pain, you’re not alone and you’re not going crazy. There are no easy fixes or answers, but there are many parents going through the exact same parallel emotions over the loss of their precious child. It does not matter what age your child was (2, 26, or 42) or the circumstances of the death – that deep intense pain is the reality for a parent.
How A Glimpse of Hope works
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays each month (June-August), from 7:00 – 8:00 pm at Antrim Brethren in Christ Church to support one another, learn from each other, talk about helpful ways to balance grief and life, and most importantly – to consider how God desires to work in our lives. Our meetings are designed around open discussion and topics about how to cope, survive, have faith, prayer, and also hope that the future can be brighter! We seek to be a safe space where you can be you, where thoughts, feelings, tears, and memories can be shared with understanding friends in a confidential place. We work from a Christian perspective and all are welcome, whether Christian or however you might describe yourself.
